Trapping runs in the Mackey family

The Missouri Fish and Wildlife Department recently released its finding on a study they were conducting on wild turkey nesting predation. It found that 70-80% of predators raiding eggs from the nest had an impact on the poult population.

Brian Mackey from Glendale traps along the Nolin River. He said his father started teaching him as a child how to hunt and trap. He’s been hunting for over 25 years and usually does it after deer firearm deer season is over. In a 16-day straight stretch trapping, starting from the beginning of January to mid-January, he caught 74 coons, eight possums and one skunk.
