Ronald C. Hogle

Monroe Township- Ronald C. "Ron" Hogle, 79, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Thursday, February 2, 2023, at UH-Cleveland surrounded by family, after a farming accident and doing what he loved.
He was born on October 26, 1943, in his family home in Conneaut, Ohio to Carl and Josephine (nee: Brewster) Hogle. Ron graduated in 1962 from Rowe High School. He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a member of South Ridge Baptist Church and the Farm Bureau.
Ron worked for Linde Wire/ESAB and retired after 36 years. However, his true passion was farming and after retirement he began farming full time, raising beef cattle, chickens, and hogs on the JAKECO farm.
He loved spending time with his family, cherished his grandkids and making maple syrup together. Working the farm, kept him busy, but he enjoyed hunting, trapping, fishing, and when time permitted on a Sunday, he'd spend time metal detecting. Mornings were always reserved for coffee with Ronnie and anyone that would stop by.
Ron is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Colletta (nee: Kister) Hogle, whom he married on October 24, 1964, in Kingsville; children, Donna (Chris) Netoskie, Ray (Angela) Hogle, and Julie (Chris) Anthony; honorary son, Ron Smith; grandchildren, Erin Netoskie, Jacob Hogle, Peter and Olivia Anthony; brothers, Rev. Dr. Roger (Mottrie) Hogle and Robert (Leta) Hogle; sister-in-law, Donna Hogle; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Donald C. Hogle; and two nieces, Helen Jackson and Terri Hogle.
Calling hours will be held, Monday, February, 6, 2023 from 5PM-8PM at Thompson-Smith-Nesbitt Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut and Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at the funeral home from 10AM-11AM, where a funeral service will follow at 11:00AM, with his brother, Rev. Dr. Roger Hogle, officiating. Burial will follow at Kelloggsville Cemetery.
The family suggest contributions or to donate blood to the Red Cross, an organization that Ron donated over 28 gallons of blood or to WGOJ Radio, PO BOX 725 Conneaut, Ohio.

Plant a tree: How does it work

When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.

An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.

After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.

Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.

Tree Planting Timeline
