ESCANABA — The Bay Sages will gather for their regular monthly meeting on Thursday, January 12, at 10 a.m at the Joseph Heirman University Center at Bay de Noc Community College.

The program for January 12 will feature Roy Dahlgreen on trapping in the Upper Peninsula. He has been trapping since his teens and has helped coordinate both the U.P. Trappers Convention and the national convention held at the U.P. State Fairgrounds.

Besides trapping for recreational benefits and the pelts, trappers are called in to eliminate unwanted animals such as squirrels and skunks. He was recently asked to eliminate otters which were feeding on fish stock in a local pond.

Upcoming programs will include: February 2 featuring Bay College Community Library, TRIO/STEM programs; March 2 Players de Noc Cemetery Walk, April 6, Victim Services by Ann DeShambo, May 4, Public Safety by Rob LaMarche, and June 8, U.P. Sawmills and Henry Fords ventures by Keith Whitman.
