Zoetis Inc., the animal health unit of Pfizer Inc. (NYSE: PFE), is now planning to raise more than $2 billion in its IPO. In an amended filing, the company said it plans to offer 86.1 million shares at between $22 and $25 per share, which would give it an initial market cap of $11.8 billion were it to price in the middle of that range. Zoetis plans to trade on the NYSE under ticker symbol ZTS. J.P. Morgan, BoA Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley are serving as lead underwriters, while 16 other banks also are listed.

Pfizer Inc. (NYSE: PFE) said that it will split off its remaining 80% interest in its former animal health unit Zoetis Inc. (NYSE: ZTS), which completed a $2.2 billion IPO back in February. The split will be done via an exchange offer.

Valeant Pharmaceuticals (TSX: VRX) has made a "preliminary approach" to acquire animal health company Zoetis (NYSE: ZTS), according to the WSJ. Zoetis, which was spun out of Pfizer in early 2013, had a market cap of around $25 billion before the WSJ report.

Permira has agreed to sell Pharmaq Holding, an aquatic health group, to Zoetis Inc. (NYSE:ZTS) for $765 million. The deal represents a 3.2x return for Permira, which bought the company in 2013. Pharmaq.no
