OH: Coyote attacks on dogs lead city to look into problem

Fairfield City Council plans to have a meeting in January to address the concerns of the active coyote problem in the city.

City Council is “interested in exploring ways to mitigate concerns” of the city’s residents, according to a letter to be sent to a resident that presented a 60-resident petition to the board earlier this month.

Fairfield has invited Wildlife Management Supervisor Brett Beatty from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) to share effective methods for alleviating the problem through programs to reduce the population within the city and how to protect household pets.
