I’ve been writing this column for about 12 years now and I’ve written about a lot of the outdoor stuff that I’ve done in my lifetime.

However, I think I have mentioned my fur-trapping life just a few times in passing. I don’t think I’ve ever dedicated more than a few sentences to that wonderful eight-year period of my life.

From 1982 to 1990, I was a beaver trapper. Not full-time, but a very solid half-time, for sure.
