Hawai’i: Fur Ban Back, Hearing Wednesday, March 1

The annual legislation to ban the sale of fur is back. On Wednesday, March 1, the Senate Commerce & Consumer Protection and Ways & Means Committee will be holding a joint committee hearing on Senate Bill 682.

This destructive bill works to decimate all trade in fur, leaving trappers and others who rely on fur products with no way to sustain their activities. The impacts will be felt far and wide, including on all-fur products and any items that utilize fur in production, such as fishing lures, boots, gloves or other clothing, jewelry, and toys.
